ApiSave™ is a botanical extract that improves bee health through good nutrition and contributing to a clean hive environment. ApiSave™ works to strengthen the overall wellness of the hive community and helps the hive to combat the various pathogens.
Supplement application will be useful at any time, but the most important time to use the food-additive is spring as the honey bees are just coming out of hibernation, and fall right before hibernation. This food-additive contributes to the success of the hives as they overwinter when the honey bees are supplemented prior to hibernation.
ApiSaveTM is made from a Generally Regarded As Safe (GRAS) plant material, extracted without using any organic solvent. This material is non-toxic and there is no major energy consumption in the process of making the material.
ApiSaveTM has received Health Canada approval as a permitted substance for oral supplement for honeybees and can be classified as an oral Veterinary Health Product.
Field applications of both liquid and powdered ApiSave™ have been conducted and no adverse effects have been observed on any of the any of the workers, drones, queens or larvae at dosages higher than that recommended.
There have been 6 field trials conducted in Canada and Mexico to date using up to 150 hives per trial and the results tend to show a positive effect on the wellbeing of the hive as it relates to the various pathogens.
ApiSave™ is a substance permitted to be used as an oral supplement for Honey Bees. We sell ApiSave™ as a liquid or powder. It is to be added to food patties, bee syrup, and water supplies for bees to consume in the spring before honey flow, and in the fall after honey flow.
ApiSaveTM is the product of collaboration of ApiSaveTM team and several Canadian academic labs, private research institutes, provincial/national beekeeper organizations and commercial/hobby beekeepers.
